Modular synthesizers are composed of separate modules for different functions. Each of these modules can be connected together to create a patch. The output of these modules includes audio signals, analog controlled voltage, and timing conditions. Modules include voltage-controlled oscillators, voltage-controlled filters, voltage-controlled amplifiers, and envelope generators.
